A Jesuit priest stands pointing with his extended proper right hand to the confluence of three rivers. He wears robes and an ankle-length cloak. The

Remarks:
The
sculpture
was donated by Richard Parrot in memory of his father, Joseph W. Parrot. The idea for the
sculpture
originated in the spring of 1969, with a bequest in the will of Joseph W. Parrot,
founder
of Parrot Packing Company. The
sculpture
was commissioned by Richard Parrot, as requested in his father's will. The
sculpture
cost $15,000 and was modeled by 1972. It was cast and dedicated in 1976. The
sculpture
commemorates the early Jesuit priests/explorers who came from Canada in the 17th century to bring Christianity to the American wilderness.
