Remarks:
The Renaissance Revival Germania Building was built by Heinrich A. Ratterman and designed by local architect Johann Bast. Ratterman founded the German Mutual Insurance Company and moved his company into the building in 1877. The statue of Apollo, done by
Fettweis
, represented Ratterman's interest in music. In 1918, the building name was changed to the Columbia Building.
