Remarks:
The sculpture is a copy of a sculpture at the Carmelite monastery in Lisieux, France. Boni designed the base. Two copies were commissioned by the Monastery; the first copy was deemed unsatisfactory and was sold. The second copy was installed in 1961 and dedicated to the Reverend Mother Aloysius, founder of the Concord monastery. The sculpture was cleaned in November, 1992. IAS files contain copy of related correspondence; and copy of related article from Concord Daily Monitor, Oct. 16, 1961.
