Inscription:  (On lower right side of bust:) PETER DAVID EDSTROM 1926 (Plaque on base, raised letters:) LINCOLN/TO THE YOUTH OF TODAY/NATION BUILDERS OF TOMARROW (sic)/THE ARGONAUT CLUB/1927 signed Description:  A bust of Abraham Lincoln wearing a coat and tie. Remarks:  The sculpture was erected by the Argonaut club and originally stood outside the County Courthouse. A newsclipping from the Bakersfield Californian, dated April 5, 1954, indicates the sculpture had been "recently moved" to a temporary resting spot alongside the Hall of Records (its current location).
