    Description: 
    A hazy summer day with large and small sailboats awaiting the start of a boat race on the calm waters of the Delaware River. In the lower left corner, two figures in a small boat row out into the river to watch the race. In the center there is a two masted sailboat with one sail up and a three masted sailboat with its sails down. A steamboat is visible in the distance.
