    Description: 
    A circular fountain consisting of a cast-iron basin, a cast-stone pedestal and reflecting pool, surrounded by four benches. The basin is decorated with leaves and frogs and sits atop the pedestal. The pedestal is finished in granite and sits in the middle of a circular reflecting pool. Water fountains out of the cast-iron basin.

    Nearby plaque: "GERMAN MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN. This fountain commemorates the religious, social, agricultural, economic and political contributions of early German immigrants to the establishment and growth of the colony of Georgia. Erected and dedicated in 1989 by their descendants. Members of German Heritage Society, German Friendly Society, German Salzberger Society." The fountain cost $45,000, much of which was covered by donations of services and materials. The basin was donated by Sidney Raskin. IAS files contain excerpt from Dorothy H. Stewart's "The Monuments and Fountains of Savannah: a Report for the Savannah Park & Tree Department," 1993.
