    Description: 
    Full-length figure of a uniformed Union soldier at parade rest stands atop a three-course shaft and tiered base. He wears a caped coat and a cap and holds his rifle in front of him with both hands around the barrel and the butt near his proper right foot. Relief ornamentation includes a cannon on the front of the base, crossed swords and a wreath on the second course of the shaft and polished cannon balls on each corner, at the base of the second course of the shaft.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Town of Wilna under the auspices of the E. B. Steele Post, Grand Army of the Republic and the Women's Relief Corps. The monument was crafted at the Barre Granite Works and purchased through and erected by Crooks & McLean Monument Company.
