Description:
Full-length figure of a uniformed Union soldier at parade rest stands atop a three-course shaft and tiered base. He wears a caped coat and a cap and holds his rifle in front of him with both hands around the barrel and the butt near his proper right foot. Relief ornamentation includes a cannon on the front of the base, crossed swords and a wreath on the second course of the shaft and polished cannon balls on each corner, at the base of the second course of the shaft.
