    Remarks: 
    Born Sept. 13, 1833, the only daughter of Tillman Dixon Allen and Louisa (Gibbs) Allen of Smith County, Tennessee. Married Brig. Gen. Alexander William Campbell of Jackson, Tennessee in 1852. Her father died at the age of twenty-six, after which her mother married the father of Alexander William Campbell, John Wesley Campbell. They all lived in Jackson, Tennessee. She died on March 30, 1916. Mrs. Campbell was painted twice by Cooper, the first time was before her marriage and the second time was after her marriage. This portrait was painted after her marriage.
    This painting, which is a companion to the portrait of Brig. Gen. Alexander William Campbell (IAP record number: 81770063), was formerly attributed to an unknown artist.
