    Remarks:
The Cartwright Brothers Granite Company of Detroit were the contractors for the erection of the work. The memorial cost twenty-five thousand dollars which was raised through popular subscription organized by Maybury's friend George W. Fowle. The City of Detroit provided the base. The memorial was moved during 1955-1956 while an underground parking garage was created, but when the memorial was reinstalled, it was not placed in the exact spot it had previously occupied. The memorial was restored in 1985 by Venus Bronze Works, Inc.
