    Remarks:
The Patriotic Order Sons of America began raising funds for the statue in Feb. 1892. The statue was carved in the Carlucci yard, but the base was contracted to a Quincy, Massachusetts granite yard. For the dedication, the statue was place on a temporary base because the permanent one had not been delivered in time. IAS files contain an article from the Scranton Times, July 5, 1953.
