Inscription:  Randolph Rogers, Rome C. Francini's Galleries./New York 1929 signed Description:  A standing figure of the muse Merope floats above a cloud, her legs extended behind her. She has long, flowing hair and wears a long robes draped over her proper right shoulder, that leave her upper front torso and much of her back exposed. Her proper right arm hangs by her side holding her drapery. She holds her proper left hand to her forehead as she looks off into the distance.
