Remarks:
The sculpture is named after the artist's son and commemorates one of the most destructive tornadoes in the history of the U.S., which devastated parts of Omaha on May 5, 1975. The metal pieces used for the sculpture are leftovers from the tornado. Approximately $1,000 of the $1,500 costs came from private and public organizations, including the University of Nebraska-Omaha Research Fund and the Nebraska Arts Council. IAS files contain related newsclipping from the Omaha World-Herald, April 5, 1976 and excerpt from Leonardo, vol. 12, pg. 217.
