Description:
A Confederate Civil War soldier stands holding his rifle in front of him with his proper left hand grasping the barrel just above his proper right hand. His proper right arm rests against a bullet pouch hanging around his waist. A rolled up blanket is slung over his proper left shoulder and a canteen strap crosses his proper right shoulder. On his proper left side is a bayonet and a canteen. The soldier has a moustache and wears a cavalry-style hat. Behind the soldier is a tree stump. The sculpture is mounted atop a tall, square shaft which is adorned with a relief of crossed Confederate battle flags and a pile of cannon balls. The section below the shaft is adorned with a relief of crossed cannons and a laurel wreath tied with a bow. The bottom section of the base consists of three steps. The monument is enclosed by a low fence.
