KATERI/TEKAKWITHA/(incised letters:) LILY OF THE/MOHAWKS unsigned Description:  Kateri Tekakwitha, a Mohawk Indian woman, stands clasping a crude cross to her chest with both hands. She wears breads, an ankle-length buckskin dress and moccasins. A dog lies at her feet, while lilies grow from the ground on her proper left. The sculpture is mounted on a two-tiered base. The sculpture was received as a gift from St. Olaf's Roman Catholic Church, when their new building was erected. IAS files contain an article from the St. Cloud Visitor, July 2, 1987; and a handwritten note which indicates sculpture may have been damaged by fire at St. Olaf's and the head replaced.
