    Remarks:
The sculpture was a relief project with funds from the City of Minneapolis, the State of Minnesota, the State Relief Agency and the Works Progress Administration. The site of the memorial, near Olson's birthplace, was originally to include a museum, amphitheater and park for which the state allocated $16,220, but ultimately, only the statue was erected. This is Carlo Brioschi's last major work. Floyd B. Olson (1891-1936) was a three-term governor of Minnesota who died in office.
