    Description: 
    A tall marble stele carved on the front with a relief of two male Pilgrims conversing, above which is a narrow frieze depicting Pilgrims in daily activities. At the foot of the stele is a rectangular fountain basin. The back of the stele is engraved with the names of Newark's founders. The stele rests in the center of a flat rectangular stone base.

    Remarks: 
    The back of the stele is engraved with the names of men from Milford and Branford in the New Haven colony who composed the original group of settlers under the secular leadership of Robert Treat. The 1995 SOS! survey notes that the sculpture is scheduled to be moved upon completion of arts center in Newark.
