Description:
A bust-length relief portrait of Colonel Amory K. Johnson dressed in military uniform, wearing a mustache and beard. The portrait is above an inscription, and a decorated border surrounds the relief plaque and separates the inscription from the portrait. The relief plaque is affixed to the upper section of a two-sectioned base.

Remarks:
Commemorates Civil War Colonel Amory K. Johnson. The federal government paid $222.50 for the relief plaque. The monument is located on land that was formerly property of the Vicksburg National Military Park. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures (LCS no. 03398). IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form. Bronze cost $222.50 paid by Federal Government.
