Description:
Full-length figure of Abraham Lincoln stands on a square base. He wears a nineteenth-century suit with vest, tie and long coat. He leans against a short column with his proper right hand, the hand in which he holds his speech, the second Inaugural address.

Remarks:
Gift of Alexander Groves in memory of his son Harry, an attorney and a graduate of Lincoln High School, now Webster City High School. SOS! surveyor lists the media of the sculpture and base as granite and attached articles list the material as bronze and marble. The sculpture was originally installed in the auditorium and was moved to its outdoor site in 1929. At that time, a new base was purchased. IAS files include a related article from the Daily Freeman-Journal, Nov. 8, 1934.
