    Owner:
Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York, Pennsylvania 17403
    Remarks:
The sculpture is carved from a 150 year-old copper beech tree that was originally part of the Snyder farm. The site of the tree was purchased by the Church with a promise to the owners that the tree would be preserved. Since the early 1960s, the tree had served as a landmark for the Church, which identified itself as "Aldersgate by the Copper Beach (sic) Tree." When the tree died, members of the congregation decided to have it carved into a sculpture. IAS files contain a related article from the Dallastown/Red Lion Community Courier, Nov. 30, 1994, pg. 1.
