    Description: 
    A Spanish American War soldier stands in a relaxed pose with proper right hand on his hip. He wears a broad-brimmed hat, ammunition belt, knee-high boots, and a bag near his proper left hip. He holds the barrel of a rifle in front of him with his proper left hand, the stock of which rests on the ground. The sculpture is mounted atop a rough-hewn, square base with a smooth, tapered base cap. At the foot of the base, on each side, are rough-hewn, rectangular blocks. The base rests on top of a short foundation and is encircled by a walkway.
