Remarks:
Gift of Henry F. MacGregor in memory of his wife, Elizabeth S. MacGregor. Sculpture was originally installed at an elementary school on Almeda Road where it was a fountain, possibly a drinking fountain. The rear of the piece retains a chalice-shaped indentation where a basin once was. When the sculpture was moved in 1974 by Stone
Art
of Houston, part of the fountain's retaining wall with the date 1927 went with it, and became part of the plaza. The original proper right arm was missing at that time, and was replaced by the artist's son.
