    Description: 
    A portrait of Collis Potter Huntington. He is depicted as a robust figure with a bald head, full beard and moustache. He wears a fully buttoned knee-length overcoat. His proper left arm is held at his side, fist clenched. His proper right arm is held at his side with his proper right hand gripping the handle of a cane. He leans on the cane which appears to support his weight. His legs are together, with the proper right foot pointing forward and overhanging the edge of the plinth by about four inches. His proper left foot is turned slightly outward. The sculpture stands atop a simple rectangular granite base.

    Remarks: 
    Presented to the city of Huntington by the Huntington family. IAS files contain related articles from Tri-State Living (April 1988), pg. 8-9, 11; and the Huntington Advertiser (Oct. 23, 1924, pg. 1). Huntington was the founder of Huntington (West Virginia) and builder of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. The statue originally was located in front of the C & O Railway passenger station and was moved to Heritage Village, its present site, sometime around 1978.
