(On front of base:) Henry Rosenberg signed Description:  Portrait of Henry Rosenberg, seated in an upholstered armchair. He has a goatee and is dressed in turn of the century clothing, with a flower in his buttonhole. His overcoat is draped over the back of the chair. His hands rest in his lap. Henry Rosenberg (1824-1893) was a Swiss born banker and a philanthropist. Benefactions to Galveston include, Texas Heroes Monument, YMCA Building (demolished), Letitia Rosenberg Home, Eaton Chapel and Grace Episcopal Church, Rosenberg School and Rosenberg Library.
