A figure of Melanie Calvat depicted as she stands and watches the Virgin Mary being assumed into heaven. She wears a dress, an apron, shoes, and a cap and clasps her hands together in prayer.

Remarks:
A grouping three sculptures commemorating the Virgin Mary's apparition in 1846 at LaSalette, France to two children, Maximin Giraud and Melanie Calvat who were watching their cows in the French Alps. The sculpture depicts the third phase of the Virgin's apparition as she is assumed into heaven, while Maximin and Melanie stand and watch. Figures of Our Lady of LaSalette (IAS record NH000290) and Maximin (IAS record NH000291) stand nearby. IAS files contain articles from the Manchester Union Leader, June 1, 1951; and The Canaan Reporter and Enfield Advocate (Canaan, New Hampshire), May 24, 1951, pg. 1; and May 7, 1953, pg. 1. IAS files contain a photocopy of "LaSalette Shrine, Enfield, N.H., Walking Tour Guide."
