A figure of Maximin Giraud, dressed in a short cloak, a brimmed hat, and shoes. He stands on a hillside with his proper left hand slightly raised and his proper left hand holding a staff.

Remarks:
One of a grouping of three, the sculpture commemorates the Virgin Mary's apparition in 1846 at LaSalette, France to two children, Maximin Giraud and Melanie Calvat who were watching their cows in the French Alps. The figure of Maximin is shown at the moment when the Virgin Mary first appeared. See also Our Lady of LaSalette (IAS record NH000286) and Melanie Calvat (IAS record NH000288).
