Description:
A memorial with a relief plaque with five family members of different ages, including two men and two women, with one child. They stand before a rush of water. Below the relief plaque is an inscription plaque. Both plaques are on a large stone base. The memorial is within a bordered, planted setting.

Remarks:
A memorial to victims of Hurricane Camille. Hurricane Camille struck central Virginia in August 1969, and many Nelson County people lost their lives and homes. Communities situated on riverbanks such as Massie's Mill on the Tye river were hardest hit. Robert Bricker created the relief plaque; Steve Bliley sculpted the base. The sandstone for the base came from Highland County; the river rock came from Augusta County.
