First Lutheran Church, 17 East Broadway, Louisville, Kentucky 40202
    Remarks:
The sculpture was reportedly modelled after Cranach's portrait of Luther at age 38, when he made his confessional decision at Worms in 1521. The sculpture is a copy of one originally located at the Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois (now in Fort Wayne, Indiana). The Kentucky statue cost $11,000 was funded through the bequest of Thomas S. Jones of Louisville, with matching funds provided by Judge and Mrs. Lawrence F. Speckman, 1960. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication program.
