    Roosevelt on horseback, in a cavalry uniform. He holds both reins in his hands and leans slightly back in the saddle. The horse stands on all four legs. The statue has a green patina, and stands on a newly constructed base.

    Remarks: 
    This was recently moved from one location in the park to another (exact locations not reported). It is the larger of two replicas of a Roosevelt statue in Portland, Oregon; the smaller version is located in Mandan, North Dakota. Donated by Dr. Henry Waldo Coe of Portland, OR. IAS files contain related articles from Minot Daily News (Minot, ND), Sept. 11, 1924, pg. 1., Minot Daily News (Minot, ND), Aug. 21, 1954, and Minot Daily News (Minot, ND), April 30, 1960, pg. 1. The news articles provide information on the dedication, the donor, and the debate about removing the green patina in 1960.
