Full-length seated portrait of the
Countess
of
Lathom
(1869-1931) wearing a plum velvet gown with gauzy stole and a blue wrap. She wears a tiara and holds a jewelled necklace in her left hand. Ornaments and books are on a round table at left near a plinth and pillar with a draped curtain.
