    Provenance: 
    Formerly located State Bar Building, 402 West Wilson Street, Madison, Wisonsin until 1984.
    City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, South Carroll Street wall, Madison, Wisconsin 1984-2006.
    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned in 1958 by the State Bar of Wisconsin. Originally installed on the State Bar Building Exterior, the sculpture remained there until the building was redesigned and expanded. In 1984 the sculpture was gifted by the State Bar to Dane County and installed on the the west facade of the City-County Building. In 2006, following construction of a new Dane County Courthouse, the sculpture was relocated to the west facade.
