    The south pediment figures symbolize wisdom, thought, and reflection.The central figure is a female figure representing Wisdom, while Thought is a winged skull in her left hand and Reflection is a mirror held in her right hand. On the right is a figure holding an equilateral triangle representing Equity. On the left is a figure holding a square to represent Rectitude. On the right three seated figure represent Executive Power, Meditation, and Prudence. On the left, three similar figures represent Calmness, Caution of Dipolmacy, and Earnestness of Eloquence.The winged ball held in the left hand of the figure on the far left of the group represents Progress.
