Description:
Abstract cast concrete children's play equipment, sand box and slide in the shapes of six Chinese Zodiac animals: a tiger, a ram, a monkey, a rabbit, a dragon and a serpent. The sculptures have glass eyes.

Remarks:
Four of the animals were commissioned by the city and county of San Francisco's Bureau of Architecture; two were commissioned and donated by the Tamarack Foundation. The installation was a joint project of the Recreation and Park Department, the Art Commission and the city architect's office. The sculpture is part of a playground and is climbed on by children. IAS files contain copies of related articles from San Francisco Chronicle, Sept. 21, 1984 and San Francisco Progress, Sept. 26, 1984.
