Description:
Two bronze relief panels flank the east entrance to the state capitol building. The relief on the left depicts two women folding laundry into a basket. In the center of the panel stand two men, one dressed in uniform and the other in a suit holding a top hat. They are speaking to a woman. On the right side of the panel is a row of receding hospital pallets with wounded soldiers. The closest soldier is being tended by a doctor and a nurse who sit on either side of his bed. The panel on the right depicts Indiana Governor Morton addressing soldiers from the capitol steps. Fluted columns can be seen in the background.
