Description:
A figure of Jesus with his arms outstretched to his sides, the emblem of the Sacred Heart emblazoned on his chest. He is barefoot and wears robes, and stands on thorns on a bank of clouds. The sculpture is mounted upon a rectangular brick base with a limestone cap.

Formerly located Alverna Retreat House, 8140 Spring Mill Road, Indianapolis, Indiana
Remarks:
The sculpture was originally installed at the Alverna Retreat House, which had been purchased by the Franciscans in 1960. When it closed, the sculpture was relocated to its present site at Sacred Heart Church and rededicated in a shrine designed and constructed by Donald Wood.
