Crucifixion, (sculpture). Artist:  Unknown, sculptor. Title:  Crucifixion, (sculpture). Dates:  ca. 1935. Medium:  Sculpture: metal; Relief: stone; Base: concrete. Dimensions:  Sculpture: approx. 15 x 8 x 2 1/2 ft.; Base: approx. 4 x 9 x 7 1/2 ft. Inscription:  unsigned Description:  A crucifixion scene depicting Christ on the cross with three mourners below. To Christ's proper right is Mary, heavily robed and veiled. She stands facing forward, away from the cross. She is wringing her hands at her chest. Crouched at the foot of the cross is Mary Magdalen with hands clasped. Her uncovered head is bowed. A draped urn rests to her proper left. To Christ's proper left stands a robed St. John with hands tightly clasped. The sculpture is mounted upon a rectangular concrete base with a stone relief plaque inset in the front. The plaque contains the letters "IHS" superimposed over a cross.
