Description:
A standing figure of a barefoot Mary, her hands extended outward. she is dressed in a veil and long robes with the Immaculate Heart emblazoned on her chest. The sculpture is mounted on a tiered, rectangular base.

Remarks:
The sculpture was donated by Lorena Krodel in memory of her husband, Walter J. Krodel. The Maternal Heart of Mary is the patron of the Little Company of Mary. The sculpture was moved about fifty feet north of its original site to make room for expansion of hospital. For related information see the Dubois County Daily Herald, July 8, 1951, pg. 8.
