    Description: 
    A World War I soldier stands in uniform, holding the barrel of his rifle with his proper left hand, the butt of which rests by his foot. He wears a campaign hat and stands in front of what might be a tree stump. The sculpture is mounted upon a two-tiered, pyramidal base of mortared granite stones.
