Saint Joseph, depicted as a younger man, stands wearing robes, short hair and a beard, holding a lily in his proper right hand and a saw in his proper left hand, the blade of which rests by his foot. Saint Joseph stands in a covered niche on the facade of a church, mounted on a platform that juts out. Beneath the niche are a row of five rectangular relief panels with symbols depicting events in the life of Christ, including, from left to right: "Annunciation" -- a lily with a dove above it; "Visitation" -- a pair of doves over two pairs of hands that are reaching for one another; "Nativity" -- a five-pointed star radiating over a flowering plant, possibly poppies; "The Presentation" -- a candle with radiating light, infant Jesus with halo in the left corner, dressed in a robe and being held up by a pair of hands; "Found in the Temple" -- an arch in the background, and young Jesus with an unfurled scroll in his proper right hand, and a palm leaf in his proper left hand.
