Description:
Pediment relief illustrates Thomas Jefferson standing in back of a table around which are seated on the left, Benjamin Franklin and John Adams and on the right, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston. All were appointed by the Continental Congress to help Jefferson draft the Declaration of Independence. The figures are dressed colonial attire consisting of long coats over buttoned vests, knickers, and curly wigs.
