Lent by English Speaking Union,
Remarks:
The sculpture is on permanent loan from the English Speaking Union of the United States as a symbol of Anglo-American unity. It is installed on the border between the British Embassy property and the District of Columbia property. Some members of the English Speaking Union objected to the cigar, but it was eventually accepted by the majority of the members. IAS files contain a sheet from the British Embassy Press Office, and an unidentified article on the artist, which briefly describe the sculpture and its dedication.
