    Remarks: 
    Jose Cecilio del Valle (1776-1834) was born in Honduras and went on to become a key Central American statesman, lawyer, and newspaper reporter. In 1820, after Mexico became independent from Spain, he advocated the unification of Central America under one legislative body. He later was imprisoned during the Guatemalan revolution, but emerged to serve in the Guatemalan legislature and become elected present of Guatemala.
