Description:
Bust of Gabriela Mistral with her hair pulled back in a bun. The bust length portrait does not include drapery. Sculpture is painted olive green. Piece rests on a three part gray granite base consisting of a small square on top of a rectangle which rests on top of a flat square foundation.

Gabriela Mistral was born in 1889 and received a Nobel Prize in 1945. IAS files contain a press release written in spanish for the November 21, 1980 dedication day.
