    Description: 
    Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture is depicted as a seated woman wearing a scoop-necked dress which falls to her knees. Her hair is pulled back and her hands are resting in her lap on top of a folded blanket. She looks down toward the ground. The surface of the sculpture is textured.

    Sculpture was selected by the National Capital Area Federation of Garden Clubs in honor of Kay Lahr for her support of the National Arboretum and the Federation of Garden Clubs. IAS image files contain both a snapshot and mounted images of this sculpture. IAS files contain a copy of the dedication program and a speech given by Mrs. Robert Westbrook at the ceremony.
