    Remarks:
Statue commemorates Bedford Stonecutters Association and pays tribute to immigrants from Ireland, Scotland, France and Germany who came to practice their trade. Quarrying and stoncutting became important in Bedford about 1875 and flourished until about World War II. The statue overlooks a section of graves especially for stonecutters.
