Description:
Obelisk on a four-tiered base, with figures of Confederate soldiers standing on either side. Dates appear midway on the shaft on each side of the four-sided obelisk. A flag in relief is on one side of the obelisk between the figures.

Remarks:
Dedicated by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Tampa Chapter 113 and the citizens of Tampa. During World War II, the head of one of the figures was broken off and a replacement was obtained from Italy. IAS files include excerpts from publications which contain historic photographs including "The Treasure City-Tampa," "Tampa: a History of the City of Tampa and the Tampa Bay Area," by Karl Grismer, (St. Petersburg, FL, 1950, pg. 223); "Yesterday's Tampa Bay," (Miami: E. A. Seeman Pub., 1972) and "Tampa: a Pictoral History," pg. 75, both by Hampton Dunn.
