Description:
"Homer, clothed in classical garb, is seated on a bench covered with a cloth. At his feet, seated on the ground, is his youthful Egyptian guide with crossed legs. The guide, facing east, holds in his proper left hand what appears to be either a writing tablet or a musical instrument. Homer has his proper right hand on his proper right knee and proper left hand on the head of the young guide."

Presented by Mr. J. W. Simpson and the sculptor, Sir Moses Ezekiel; the bronze figure group was the gift of Mr. Simpson, while the black Italian marble base was the gift of the sculptor.
