Remarks:
The sculpture was donated by John S. Wood, Jr. He originally commissioned the sculpture in 1981 for his home in Annapolis. When the tree on which it hung died, Wood donated the sculpture to the zoo, with permission of the artist. At that time, the artist divided the work into three separate mobiles, and hung them in separate trees at the zoo. The first mobile is located in a tree across from the glockenspiel, next to parking lot B. The second mobile is located in a tree at the end of Panda Restaurant and the third mobile is located in a tree to the right of the eagle cage, in the wetlands. IAS files contain related correspondence from Wood dated May 1, 1990, and transcription of text that appears with each mobile.
