The young brave is reprsentative of the "common people" amoung the Indians and the Indian chief represents the Potawatomi Indian leaders who were forced out along the Tippecanoe. Civil Works Administration workers constructed the gateway. Matthews Bros. Stone Co. supplied the limestone.
