    Description: 
    Figure of a World War I soldier, dressed in uniform, walking forward. He is holding a grenade up in his proper right hand and a rifle in his proper left hand. The lower part of his legs are wrapped and he wears a helmet. There is a tree stump behind him on the proper left side.

    Remarks: 
    IAS files contain a copy of the Muncie Evening Press (Muncie, IN), Aug. 15, 1939. This piece was originally located in the basement of the old Muncie City Hall, on Jackson Street, ca. 1934-1939. Purchased and donated by Elizabeth Sears. In 1939 it was moved to the cemetery and bronzed. The original surface material is unknown.
